Yeah, like the sand drawing in Japan. Do you know that one? It's like when they're doing the dry garden and they draw things on sand.

Yeah. What are those ones called when they do it with the rakes and stuff.

Zen Garden?

Zen Garden, yeah.

Yeah. I think it's really beautiful. But in a way that some wind will destroy it.

But I think that's sort of what it's about, isn't it?

Yeah, it's like the instant moment.

I can't remember which painter it was, and I can't remember who's telling me this. But they were saying that there was this painter who hosted these weekly workshops. He was a really famous painter. And after each workshop he would say to all the students: “OK, now you destroy the work.” Because it's not about enjoying the outcome but it's more about enjoying the process. And I think that's what Zen Garden is as well. It's more about enjoying the process and knowing that it's not forever, but you can always make it again.

It's like in a really extreme way.

I was studying the landscape architecture and there's two types of Japanese gardens: the wet ones and the not wet ones.

Haha the wet ones and the not wet ones.

Yeah. So basically the Japanese garden is representing the world. So when you have wet stuff that's oceans and something like this. And when you have those dry ones without water, the sand is the water. So when you are doing the sand stuff with the sand, that has a meaning as well. And you have those rocks between the sand, right?

Yeah.

These are the continents.

And when you are doing like those wavy stuff, it's like representing nature and the power of nature.

Yeah, they always kind of look like islands in the ocean.

Yeah. Because that's the same thing like you have the wet ones, but there's no water.

Yeah.

And instead, you have sand.

Yeah.

I always wonder if they're like following a pattern they've seen on the Internet or whatever traditional sort of patterns they follow, or where they just make it up on the spot, I don't know.

They have special…Like those funny making.

Do you think they're like following something that someone shown them before?

Probably, yeah.

Or do you think they're just doing it spontaneously? Because I have a feeling it's like a mix of both. This sort of look they take inspiration for what they've seen before in other people's gardens, but then they just sort of do whatever feels natural.

This looks like some ritual things.

Yeah. Because we were talking about these gardens, I've started doing that now.

Is it intentionally or you just following your instinct?

I don't know, I kind of like the more natural looking objects, I guess. Now we've been talking about that, so I'm sort of just doing that as well.

I feel like those rocks really give me the sense of those Zen Gardens. It's so peaceful even when looking at it. It's really peaceful to play and peaceful to watch.
